Change of Major Requirements

UC Davis Business and Economics Cluster

The following is a comparison of the change-of-major requirements for students who wish to switch into or add one of the following majors as a second major. Students seeking to change or add a major should consult with an academic advisor for the intended major: economics advising; business advising; managerial economics advising.

Course Requirements

Economics (ECN) Business (MGT) Managerial Economics (ARE)
The following coursework needs to be completed with a minimum 2.000 GPA: The following coursework needs to be completed with a minimum 3.20 GPA. All courses must be taken for a letter grade with no grade less than a C-. The following coursework needs to be completed with minimum C- grades (or PASS):

Additional Business Major Requirements

Unit Requirements

Students must have fewer than 135 units completed (not including AP/IB units).
 

Lottery Eligibility (Capped at 50 Students Per Year)

Students who meet both the course and unit requirements can submit their application to an annual lottery. Only one submission per student during their time at UC Davis will be allowed. The first lottery will be held in fall 2027.
